  Friday April 12, 2013 was a glorious day for Masonry and the Masons of Division VIII! With guests, many Brethren, Grand Lodge officials, parents, students, and school officials, the Public Schools Advisory Council – Inland Empire hosted the annual Public Schools Kick-Off event at Edward Hyatt Elementary School in the San Jacinto Unified School District.  The second elementary school to have Raising A Reader as an integral and successful part of the education process in the District.   On March 5, 2013, the staff of San Jacinto High School provided breakfast for those individuals and organizations who donated time and financial awards to its students during the 2012 school year. Mike Sekera and Dennis Brandt, members of the Grand Lodge Public Schools Advisory Council – IE, joined with community members, school staff, and San Jacinto Unified School District administrators in being serenaded by groups from the school’s Music Department and enjoying presentations from the Art and Drama Departments as well. Chino Valley Lodge 427 Charter Reinstated

    The Grand Master, Most Worshipful John Lowe & the Executive Committee of the Grand Lodge of California have voted to Reinstate the Charter of Chino Valley Masonic Lodge # 427. A Grand Lodge representative, Worshipful Inspector, Herb Pompey presented the Charter to the Lodge at our Stated Meeting on Monday, April 1st, 2013. The Division VIII, Grand Lecturer, Worshipful Frank Lee was present. Both our Inspector and A.G.L. were very happy, as were the Brethren to be able to return the Charter to Chino Valley Masonic Lodge.   December 7th 1941, Pearl Harbor was the start of World War II for the United States. Mal Middlesworth was an active Marine stationed on the U.S.S. San Francisco, which was moored to a pier in Pearl Harbor. On March 14th, at the Upland Masonic Center, Lodge, Eastern Star, DeMolay, Rainbow members and their families and friends were blessed with a wonderful historical presentation on Pearl Harbor and the Pacific Theater by Mr. Mal Middlesworth.     Temescal Palms Lodge has expanded it Widow’s program to include a personal visit to their homes. They will check on how they are doing and volunteer to help with any small projects they may need done.  The first visit was on January 26, 2013 to Susan Skipper, widow of Dennis Skipper, at her home in Corona.  She was very appreciative of the visit from the Lodge and they hope to get a work party together to repair some of her sprinklers.   On February 9, 2013, The Temescal Palms Masonic Lodge had its 117th Annual Valentines Sweetheart Dinner and Dance at the Lodge. The Worshipful Master’s Timelessly Lovely Wife, Kelly Padilla, who was the only person present who has attended all of the previous 116 Valentines Sweetheart Dance’s, has assured all that this by far was the best ever!!! This year the group was smaller, but the most fun people were in full attendance, and they were inspired by an out of this world menu.   Richard  Bonilla received the Hiram Award at a dinner and  program at Riverside Lodge on Feb. 21. After a roast beef dinner,the program  began with the escort of Bro.Bonill,  his wife Mary Jane, and sons.Wor. John Channon MCd the program with introductions  and a  story of the origin and meaning of the Hiram Award and Wor. Rick Emmons gave the  biography.
