Upland-Mt.Baldy and Ontario Lodges Host Mt. View School District Awards Night
On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, a thirty year tradition continued with Upland-Mt. Baldy and Ontario Lodges hosting their “Schools Night” at the Ontario Lodge. This night recognizes the public schools efforts to educate our children, and recognizes the students who have distinguished themselves through their scholastic achievement and citizenship, Many officers and members arrived early to set up the Lodge and dining rooms with tables, chairs, and setting out food for the guests. Temescal Palms Celebrates Corona-Norco Public Schools
Before 100-plus Brothers, family members, and guests, Tuesday evening April 23, 2013, Temescal Palms Lodge #314 Free and Accepted Masons honored eight Exemplary Students from seven of the CNUSD high schools, four Teachers of the Year, the Certificated, Classified Administrators of the Year, and the Classified, Confidential, and Site Support Employees of the Year. Each honoree received Certificates of Recognition from the Lodge represented by Worshipful Master Micheal Padilla; the City of Corona represented by Mayor Jason Scott; Congressman Ken Calvert’s office; and State Senator Richard Roth represented by staffer Tyler Madary. Texas Comes To Evergreen Lodge 259
The Third Degree for Dave Garner was well attended on April 24. Several members of Riverside Lodge as well as Moreno Valley were at Evergreen Lodge for the conferral . We even had two brothers from Texas (long -time friends of Brother Garner) who came all this way to see his degree. Dave was particularly impressed by the ritual of the fraternity. Wor. Public Schools Month Kickoff at Edward Hyatt Elementary School
Friday April 12, 2013 was a glorious day for Masonry and the Masons of Division VIII! With guests, many Brethren, Grand Lodge officials, parents, students, and school officials, the Public Schools Advisory Council – Inland Empire hosted the annual Public Schools Kick-Off event at Edward Hyatt Elementary School in the San Jacinto Unified School District. The second elementary school to have Raising A Reader as an integral and successful part of the education process in the District. Members of Inland Empire PSAC Committee Attended Breakfast At San Jacinto High School
On March 5, 2013, the staff of San Jacinto High School provided breakfast for those individuals and organizations who donated time and financial awards to its students during the 2012 school year. Mike Sekera and Dennis Brandt, members of the Grand Lodge Public Schools Advisory Council – IE, joined with community members, school staff, and San Jacinto Unified School District administrators in being serenaded by groups from the school’s Music Department and enjoying presentations from the Art and Drama Departments as well. Redlands Lodge Will Hold First Annual Patriots Day Program April 15, 2013
Come to Redlands Lodge on April 15th and join us in honoring the members of our uniformed services and first responders. The program is designed to recognize and thank the men and women who voluntarily put themselves in harms way in defense of our country, our communities and our homes. There will be an honor guard, a piper playing taps, Worshipful Brother Van Owen reciting his stirring tribute to the flag of a country, and a keynote address by a retired police chief who was targeted for assassination. Chino Valley Lodge 427 Charter Reinstated
The Grand Master, Most Worshipful John Lowe & the Executive Committee of the Grand Lodge of California have voted to Reinstate the Charter of Chino Valley Masonic Lodge # 427. A Grand Lodge representative, Worshipful Inspector, Herb Pompey presented the Charter to the Lodge at our Stated Meeting on Monday, April 1st, 2013. The Division VIII, Grand Lecturer, Worshipful Frank Lee was present. Both our Inspector and A.G.L. were very happy, as were the Brethren to be able to return the Charter to Chino Valley Masonic Lodge. December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor
December 7th 1941, Pearl Harbor was the start of World War II for the United States. Mal Middlesworth was an active Marine stationed on the U.S.S. San Francisco, which was moored to a pier in Pearl Harbor. On March 14th, at the Upland Masonic Center, Lodge, Eastern Star, DeMolay, Rainbow members and their families and friends were blessed with a wonderful historical presentation on Pearl Harbor and the Pacific Theater by Mr. Mal Middlesworth.
