Passing of Bro. Les Starbuck & Evelyn

posted by admin
May 12, 2019

It is with deep regret that I need to inform you of the passing of Brother Lester Martin Starbuck on April 23rd, 2019 at the age of 95 years, 7 months and 12 days and his loving wife Evelyn Jacobs Starbuck of 72 years who followed Les on May 3rd, 2019.

Brother Les was Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on May 29, 1947 in Laverne Valley Lodge No 453 in Laverne, Oilahoma and was a member in good standing for the past 72 years.  He joined Temecula Catalina Island Lodge in September of 1989.

Brother Les had been a very active Mason in recent years and could be depended upon to assist where ever he was needed serving as Chaplain of our Lodge for 13 years.  He was always working around the Lodge and could be counted on to assist with cleaning up the outdoor Lodge room when needed.  Brother Les received the Golden Anniversary Award in 1997 for 50 years as a member of the craft.  In 1997 he was also bestowed with the Hiram Award for his years of dedicated service to his Lodge.

Brother Les served in the U.S. Navy as a Radar Technician during World War II and later worked for the Federal Aviation Agency for 26 years as an Aerospace Engineer/Flight Test Engineer.  Brother Les and Evelyn were both active members of Grace Presbyterian Church in Temecula.

Brother Les was a kind man and never had a negative thing to say about anyone.  He will be sorely missed.

 Sincerely and Fraternally,

 Brother Tom Hafeli                                                                                                  Secretary
