The Master , Wardens and Senior Deacon of Palm Springs Lodge 693 received and passed on the "Traveling Gavel" at the Master/Wardens Retreat in Newport Beach March 25, 2012. R.W. Bull passing the Gavel to Luther Wood, WM Palm Springs Lodge #693, to the SD, Imanuel Eisendle, and on to SW Ted Parker and the JW David Pucksoontorn. There is a book that travels with the gavel which photos are enter into it as the gravel travels the United States and other countries. He also received greetings from his Uncle Sam and was enrolled in Basic Training in the Army. After Basic Training he was trained to be Solider in the 82nd Airborne, Tank Battalions and in the Corp of Engineers. Then the Army liked him so well they sent him home and told him to get a college education. So he enrolled in the University of Texas at El Paseo. On June 5th. 2012 The Chino Masonic Lodge recognized 3 kindergarten teachers for their contributions in education with the lodge’s 1st annual “Teacher of the Year Award.” Recipients were: Mrs. Sheila Sifflet, Mrs. Tina Persoon and Ms. Michelle Sandoval. In attendance for the ceremony was the Mayor of the City of Chino Dennis Yates, Fire Chief Summers of the Chino Valley Fire District and Lt. On Thu, March 1, 2012 we interviewed several actors from the Seniors on Stage which was a lot of fun and very interesting. We met “Larry the cable guy” who is portrayed by Jack Aten and several other actors and even met the Producer/ Director. I understand several other portrayals are scheduled to be on stage at this event which is last about one and a half to two hours long. The D8 Today team interviewed several actors from the “Seniors on Stage”, which is presenting a Vegas style variety show for San Jacinto Lodge #338, and they expect to have over 200 in the attendance. They met and interviewed “Larry the cable guy” who is portrayed by Jack Aten and several other actors and even met the Producer/ Director. BBQ at the VA Hospital in Loma Linda On Saturday, May 26, 2012 Moreno Valley Lodge #804, had their 13th annual BBQ at the VA Hospital at Loma Linda. This year all three Lodges of the 818th Masonic District, Redlands Lodge #300, Fellowship Lodge #668 and Moreno Valley Lodge #804 participated, along with the Jobs Daughters Bethel and the DeMolay Chapter from Moreno Valley. There were booths with Civil War re-enactment actors and even a band in full Civil War uniforms. The day began with the Grand Lodge officers, the officers of Temecula-Catalina Island Lodge, their families and guests socializing at the Lodge. Grand Master Frank Loui has named April Public schools month. As a part of this month long celebration on Monday, April 17, 2012 Chino Masonic Lodge presented the first annual “Excellent Reader Awards.” To the Students of Edwin Rhodes Elementary School in Chino. In Attendance was AGL for Division 8, Worshipful Frank Lee. From Chino Masonic Lodge: Worshipful Manny Blanco, Worshipful John Cover Spear and Brother Jim Duran. 28 Awards were presented to students from grades Kindergarten through sixth for their efforts in improving their reading skills.
