It has been Helen G. McCallum's privilege to post flags at Riverside National Cemetery on Memorial Day and Veterans Day.  The girls and adults have for the last 6 years, except 2020, gathered with their community and other organizations to show their respect.  Flags are posted with care on every marker and remain over the Holiday.  It is a breathtaking site to see the grounds with flags waving and honor shown to those who have so proudly served our Country and the families that have supported them.  We invite you to join us. My Brothers: Each year, a "Christmas in July" toy drive is held at Evergreen Lodge in Riverside; always in mid-July. The toys are collected for delivery to the Shriners’ medical center in Pasadena. It will come as no surprise that the event did not happen this July. However, a team of people is putting together an event in December. This will simply be a toy collection at Evergreen Lodge, for the same purpose. There will be no meal, no party, no Santa, and no elves – other than the volunteers who decide to dress up as elves. It is difficult to convey the feelings we have to fully communicate our appreciation for the dedication, courage, and sacrifice, that our veterans have made for freedom. So, we will offer you this video presentation, and a few words more. What cost, Freedom? When you weigh the cost, and find the scales uneven. Just, think of what life would be like, if there weren't those who would stand and pay the price. For there is nothing so precious, as that, which is purchased with blood.
