Past Master Jim Weyant of Big Bear Lodge upcoming Golden Veterans Award
On Friday, February 16th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., Past Master Jim Weyant will receive recognition for 50 years as a Master Mason. The presentation will be at the Masonic lodge in Big Bear located at 385 Summit Boulevard and is open to the Public. The ceremony is a brief one so please don't be late. Doors open at 6:30. Jim was Raised on February 16th exactly 50 years ago and not a day has gone by that he has not demonstrated the Masonic Values of truth, justice, honor, fidelity, dignity, hope, faith, and charity. Some of our newer brothers and friends may wonder why the year is 6018?. The answer to that is related to our calendar. The Jewish calendar is called Anno Mundi which is Latin for “The Year of the World” abbreviated as AM or A.M., or the “Year After Creation”. The Masonic Calendar is similar, Anno Lucis (“in the Year of Light”) is a dating system used in Masonic ceremonial or commemorative proceedings, which is equivalent to the Gregorian year plus 4000, for example, a date Anno Domini (A.D .) 2017 becomes Anno Lucis (A.L.) 6017. Hiram Award at Temescal /Palms Lodge
Wor. Michael Padilla received the Hiram Award Nov. 14 at a full-house attendance preceded by a steak dinner. Another special presentation was made to Bro. Padilla that brought tears to the whole audience. John Channon gave the story and history of the Hiram Award and Bob Barden provided the biography. A whole line of previous Hiram recipients was there to witness the ceremony.

Toys for Shrine Kids
Members of Evergreen Lodge and the Lady Shriners delivered over 1,000 toys on Nov. 10th for the kids at Shiners for Children Medical Center in Pasadena. Ralphs donated over 300 toys and provided a truck and driver to transport the toys from Riverside to the Medical Center. Santa and Mrs. Claus were on had to meet the kids and help them pick out toys. A great day was had by all. The Medical Center was recently completed , thus allowing the toys that were donated at the Christmas in July event to be delivered.
